PHILOSOPHY
The Early Childhood Center of Congregation Beth El believes in the development of the whole child as an individual. By providing a secure, warm atmosphere, the child feels safe to explore, experiment, create, share and learn at his or her own pace. Through recognition of his or her feelings and needs, the child develops a positive self-image and learns to love and respect others. Our state-of-the-art classrooms and playground equipment provide an atmosphere that nurtures each child’s unique abilities.

JEWISH CONTENT
Being a part of Congregation Beth El, the Early Childhood Center provides an opportunity for the child to learn about his/her Jewish heritage and culture in a developmentally appropriate manner. Included in this aspect of our program is the daily usage of Hebrew words and expressions, prayer before eating and the celebration of Shabbat and other Jewish holidays.

STAFFING
Each class is staffed by at least one teacher plus assistants chosen because of their qualifications and experience in working with young children. Their warmth and caring provide the foundation necessary to encourage the social, emotional and academic development in each individual child.

Early Childhood Center News--September, 2008

BETH EL ECC “BUILDING ON 10 YEARS OF SUCCESS”

Ten years ago, in July of 1998, the Early Childhood Center of Congregation Beth El opened for the first time. It had only a few classes and was in a brand new building which, at the time, seemed far from the mainstream and the synagogue’s main campus on Chapel Avenue.

Today everything looks a bit different. The ECC is much larger with 14 ongoing classes; the majority of members live closer to the Voorhees campus than to the Chapel Avenue building; the area has built up tremendously; and the synagogue is moving here in the not-to-distant future.

Some things do stay the same or better. Rabbi Krupnick was already Rabbi at Beth El 10 years ago and is today the dynamic force leading the Congregation; many of the teachers who opened the school then are still at the ECC today, serving as model teachers and mentors to the newer staff members; the playground that was state of the art at the time, has been improved upon during the past 10 years and most recently got a beautiful new surface that is delightful to bounce upon.

Today, the Early Childhood Center of 2008, is proud to say that our hundreds of alumni and parents come back to thank us for the excellent education we have provided to their children. And we are delighted to “shep nachas” from watching our students grow and develop into beautiful and bright young teens who enjoy coming back to visit their “favorite teachers” at the Early Childhood Center.

If you have a child who could benefit from love, attention and an excellent educational experience, call Roselee Redelheim at 675-1166 ext.1. Join us as we begin our second decade at Beth El.
