Jacob's Ladder
As you are probably all too aware, the current economic conditions have impacted our ability to balance our operating budget. We recognize that some of our members have the ability to help, and we would like to recognize those who can help through the continuation and revitalization of the Jacob's Ladder program. This name was derived from our logo which highlights Jacob's Ladder and Beth El's commitment to integrate, educate, and elevate.
For a commitment to pay an extra $1,000 in dues, Jacob's Ladder Members receive premium seating at all Beth El fund raisers at the price of general admission, a free membership in one of the Beth El Arms (such as Men's Club, etc.), waiver of the responsibility to participate in the Scrip Program, and recognition on our beautiful Jacob's Ladder plaque located near the Sanctuary entrance.
The final (and probably most important) benefit to Jacob's Ladder members is knowing that they are helping their synagogue and fellow members during the difficult economic times in which we live. As you know, at Beth El it is a cornerstone value that our commitment to integrate, educate, and elevate does not consider a member's ability to contribute financially. As such, there are a significant number of members who have applied for financial aid, especially as it relates to religious school tuition. Our dues alone cannot make up for the financial aid which will have to be awarded. It is the participation in Jacob's Ladder and other generous contributions of our members that enables Beth El to continue its policy of allowing all students to be enrolled in its award winning religious school, without taking into account the ability to pay.
If you are in position to donate, kindly e-mail Hanina Ruttenberg at hruttenberg@bethelsnj.org or call her to advise of your willingness to participate this year.
